Sredha Charitable Society

Sredha Charitable Society, registered under Travancore -Cochin Charitable Societies Act, No. TVM/TC/924/2013 on august 2013, at Fort, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, by parents of intellectually challenged persons.Sredha C S also registered under the Persons with Disabilities Act No.023/14 and affiliated to Kerala State Youth Welfare Board No.TVM0113041/2013.The Society aiming for the betterment and upliftment ofintellectually challenged persons by providing training programmes , different therapies,infrastructure, space and information as interenational measures leading to rehabilitation of disabled individuals.

Sredha Charitable Society initiated Sredha Computer & Vocational Training Centre (SCVTC), on March 14 th 2014,at West fort, Thiruvananthapuram in view of training the intellectually challenged persons, now the Centre having 83 students including nornal school going under the Inclusive education system.Through this centre Sredha providing parellel schooling, computer training through special software, pre-vocational, vocational, craft ,art,yoga,dance, music,musical instruments, various therapies etc.

Through vocational training activities Sredha provides friendly and promotional atmosphere to make them as earning members in their family by considering their abilities and constraints,and ,thus help them to live with pride civilian, having equal status.Here Sredha oraganise its according to market trends & needs, helping by providing raw materials to marketing Some of the Vocational activities done through the Centre are file making, umberalla making cloth & paper bags, fancy bags, floor mat making, Screen printing, craft works, paper pen, binding works, note pads, etc.,Computer training is giving by using a special software designed for the group, which can help them to find a easier way to accademics and developing basic knowledge.

Sredha has faculties like special educators in various perspectives other than craft,dance,musical instruments, drawing, tailoring, clay modelling, therapists in speech ,physcology,teacher trainees, class assistants other than office and altogether having 20 staffs. (regular & part time).

Sredha is supported by Central Polytechnic College ,and various NGO's in training activities. Kerala State Social Justice Department, financially supporting to an extend for its running cost.

Sredha also determined in training and giving support to special parents and special sibilings.

Sredha conducting annual programmes like national days, festives, Sports Meet, Tour and Summer Camp.

Sredha focusing to materialise a dream project of a campus which can satisfy almost all needs and requiremnents of this group including job oriented activities and rehabilitation.

Our Mission
  • Deliver high-quality inclusive education for intellectually challenged individuals, while training and enabling them in technical skills to gain professional jobs and earn an income, in addition to helping them focus on their abilities than disabilities.
  • Create and implement scientific training programs based on the individual disability levels, and capitalise on core intrinsic aptitudes and skills to lead and enable further development.
  • Introduce a scientific grading system, through which intellectually challenged individuals can be assessed better to understand their prime ability, thus enabling their selection and training for appropriate professions, resulting in employment.
  • Raise awareness for inclusion of intellectually challenged individuals in all spheres of life, while ensuring a fair and safe environment for them to live and engage in a fruitful profession.
  • Create a support network of parents, caretakers, volunteers, wellwishers, and sponsors, and Channelise the collective potential towards ensuring a Comprehensive and fruitful future for the special needs community.

Our Vision

To be a center of excellence in addressing the needs and requirements of intellectually challenged individuals, nurturing them through scientifically developed training and rehabilitation programs to enable them to become contributing members of the society, and promoting the formation of a supportive network serving the best interests of the special community.
